May 2004 - Council President’s Report

Not much to report on for May, but a lot to give thanks for….

Holy Week was an outstanding time of prayer and reflection. I want to thank the Worship Committee and all others involved for an outstanding effort in putting together some great services. This month, we also said good-bye to the Slavic Baptist school. Cindy Anderson and Gloria Deroo worked with the Slavic school, putting together a great celebration on Sunday, April 25th after church. Not only was the Taco Bar and decorations great but we were all pleasantly surprised by the performance of the school children and later – I heard, but missed – some great songs, sans music, by an adult group. Pastor Marty was presented with a wonderful photo of the school children. We will miss them all very much. But we now have the momentum…. Empty space and many exciting opportunities ahead….! We will be looking for your input and help.
