Ministry of Nurture

Christian Education -- Our Sunday School and Adult classes are still going strong. Opening for all ages is now taking place in the Sanctuary at 9:00 a.m. prior to classes. Jan Brenner, Sunday School Superintendent, and I have started discussing a summer Sunday School program featuring a nautical/cruise theme. A Vacation Bible School program, Lava Lava Island ~ Where Jesus' Love Flows, has been reviewed and finalized. This dynamic program will have kids ages 2 - 12 erupting with excitement and joy as they learn of Jesus' love and share it with others! We are currently seeking volunteers. A confirmation program, Head to the Heart by Faith Inkubators, has been recommended by Pastor and is currently being looked at.

Caring Committee -- We are forming a Caring Committee. The first congregational need that the committee will address is in-home communion. The committee will organize, schedule, and distribute communion to members in their homes. Volunteers are needed.

Coffee Hour -- With the growing success of Sunday School, we need to serve coffee before class time. Pastor has asked me to look into coffee machines/systems that will address our needs. In addition, a coffee system can be used throughout the week for various functions and events. After researching three different coffee systems I have decided on a new one that will be implemented as soon as arrangements can be made with the vendor.
