Food Closet Report - April

By: Betty Lagge
Posted: Monday, April 5, 2004

Calvary and other churches in the Rio Linda/Elverta Area support the Food Closet located at the Rio Linda Community United Methodist Church. The food closet accepts all cash or non-perishable food. It can be left at our church or taken to the food closet Monday or Thursday between 10:00 a.m. and 12 Noon.

During the month of February the food closet served 29 families comprised of 56 adults and 59 children with food for a total of 115 individuals. We appreciate the continued generous support of non-perishable food and cash which enables us to keep this community service available.

Our biggest need continues to be beans -- the kind that could help make a main dish, such as refried beans, pinto beans, chili beans, pork and beans, etc. (We do not need green beans or garbanzo beans.)

The food closet is open every Monday and Thursday 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Calvary is responsible for manning the food closet the third Monday and third Thursday of each month. If anyone would like to be a part of this important ministry, please call Betty Lagge or the church office (991-2135) to find out more information.

May God bless you as you continue to support this effort.
