In Sunday School, our focus will be on helping the children understand the meaning of this season and how it relates to them. We will not be using the Witness lessons again until Palm Sunday. Instead, we will be reading Bible texts and other interesting stories and doing a special craft each week that will help make the reason of Lent more clear to them.
On Easter morning at 9:00 we will have an Easter Egg Hunt, instead of regular classes, to help the children feel the joy of the first Easter morning!
All classes from preschool through adult will now meet in the Sanctuary for a short opening led by Pastor Marty before going to their classrooms.
We will be collecting an offering in each class which will be presented by a class member during the offering in the worship service. For our mission project during this Lenten season, we will be collecting offerings to buy fruit trees for the people of Mauritania, a very poor country in West Africa. $20.00 buys 25 of six types of trees that preserve the soil and provide food. How many trees will our Sunday School be able to provide? 50? 100? 500? Look for the chart which will be keeping track of the trees we can buy as our offerings come in!
And don't forget, we have have classes for EVERYONE! Invite your friends and neighbors. It will be a special time for the children.
SEE YOU IN SUNDAY SCHOOL!!
